From my technical analysis research I have developed a greater understanding of how many shots are actually required to fill a track. Within these shots there is often a considerable amount of movement within the frame, this would require a steady cam. As well as this I found that the duration of shots in the videos depend on the tempo of the music and in times of a quicker tempo shots can be shorter than a second, however some shots can last a long period of time with the camera picking up on new events or performers this can be seen in Bruno Mars' "The Lazy Song". With the study of Bruno Mars videos I have found that close ups and mid shots are frequently used. These videos are more than not performance based with a majority of shots showing Bruno Mars singing or smiling in his unique fashion. In his videos Bruno is seen wearing everyday clothes and accessories. The only use of props is musically based with the use of music tapes and pianos as Bruno Mars style of music replicates a more classical style pop rather than modern pop.
Good Christian, is there anything else that you can take from this video in terms of mise-en-scene and sfx that you could use in your own production?
